Jan 2009 The tick box and server load
-
We are getting mails from people asking about the tick box in our submission form and if it is really needed to have a screenshot added. Plain answer: It is not needed but it makes things easier if IT IS TRUE when you tick on it.

Having a submission with the tick box active doesn´t mean it will be added to our gallery. We must be honest, we don´t care if you have been previously added or not (it is not us, it is just the script who takes care of everything)... but the process behind having that activated is completely different than if it is not.
The reason for that tick box is just telling the script to do 1 more thing in its whole process ..... a SEARCH for the developer in our database to do the correct cross posting on each and every individual entry to build the links in "Related Entries" chapter. See below.

So, ticking the box, will give the server a little bit more load. We can deal with that. We just wanted to write this for those people out there that think that ticking gives them more posibilities to be added. Well, that's not like that. The script will also add a mark (on the submissions that ticked the box) when there is not really any submission in our database. And that's not good.
